OverviewSepia Screen is built through the repeated accumulation of layers, during which pigment flows, spreads, and disperses across the surface. As time accumulates, these movements gradually condense at certain points, forming directional traces within the composition. What remains on the surface is the state of time itself, registered through the reactions of material. The movement and transformation of pigment persist as overlapping layers embedded within the work.
Disappearance does not end in complete erasure. In the place where material has withdrawn, its traces and density continue to remain, allowing the sensation of absence itself to persist as a condition. An object may vanish, yet the sensation left behind cannot be entirely removed.
Sepia Screen focuses on what remains after things once considered worthy of memory or preservation have been neglected or forgotten. Within environments that are rapidly replaced and overwritten, existing objects disappear and are quickly substituted by something else. Yet regardless of the speed of replacement, the sensation that something once occupied that space continues to linger beneath the surface without ever being fully erased.
Sepia Screen
